The series consists of memorabilia of Cason and Virginia Callaway from ca. 1864-1976. Invitations to White House functions and other prestigious events attest to the couple's social prominence. The Callaway's philanthropy and devotion to civic duty are documented by numerous certificates and resolutions of appreciation. Memorials and tributes regarding the death of Cason Callaway are also found in this series. Howard H. Callaway's political career is documented with political memorabilia and political cartoons. The series also contains a variety of artifacts such as Confederate money, items produced at Callaway Mills, and medallions.

Howard Hollis "Bo" Callaway was born on April 2, 1927 in LaGrange, Georgia. He was a student at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1944 to 1945, and he received a B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy in 1949. He as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952.
